When setting up the three Fulvia HF, all the changes to those mechanical components that had caused problems in the previous year’s competition were taken into consideration.
Several 1600 cc engines (are available from different tuners – VL) that allow the Fulvia HF to be more competitive even if the stresses are greater. Nothing has been left to chance, the new FRAM oil filters, for example, with self-locking thread, have even been blocked with a clamp connected to a warning light that warns pilots if it were to unscrew.
Munari, after the test carried out in Nairobi, wanted to replace the engine developed by Facetti with one of ours. The reason? A power gap between 4,000 and 5,000 rpm.
Munari retired when he now had victory in his grasp. Once the difficult stages and all the special tests were over, he inexplicably went off the road due, according to him, to a moment of relaxation which was fatal.
